Don’t close that book, there’s still another chapter
Can you hear the children sing? Listen to their laughter We’ve come too far in this life, there’s no time to let it end There are brand new roads around the next bend I’ve walked through dry sands of time And been on the thin red line I’ve spoken with Angel’s feathers in my hair And have soared with the eagles of the air I was the one on the boat, who He called out to the sea And when I doubted I was the one who cried out, “Lord, save me!” Always faithful and always true More then I can say for myself, the Lord has always come through In times of darkness and in times of light In times of weakness, fear and fright The Lord has always been a tower and a beacon A refuge for life and for reason So, don’t close that book, there’s still another chapter As long as there are children to sing, the world will be filled with laughter! “Don’t let the child in your heart forget how to sing!” I wrote this poem a number of years ago. Poetry for me has always been the best way of expressing myself and my inner most thoughts and feelings. I hope you found the Truths in it revealing to your own life!
